Huge Updates on Agar.io! Bot & Lag Fix and Retina

Hello Agar.io Fans,

Today I am very happy to hear about the new patch on Agar.io. Unlike previous patches that have small bug fixes and new player skins, this patch has two great improvents. Bot fix and lag fix!

Bot Fix

A vast majority of Agar.io players concern badly about the bots that ruin gameplay. That bots are programmed to make benefit to bot owners at the same time just a pain in the ass for real Agar.io players. It was a really hard job to detect and block/ban them because they act very similar to real players. This time it seems like developers really resolved that bot issue. I tested and didn’t come across any bots during playing Agar.io.

New Graphics Options => Lag Fix

This one is the second one of two great updates. Everyone hates lag in Agar.io. We have mentioned how to fix lag in our previous posts but they were not enough in some cases. New graphics options are introduced as Retina, High, Medium, Low and Very Low. So you can play Agar.io lag-free by adjusting graphics level. And retina is a new graphics level so you can play Agar.io with more quality screen display if you have enough internet connection.

Agar.io Community Update: the new patch

Please share your ideas about this new update. Are these really enough to fix bots and lag?

Why bots are bad? I dont believe in your statement at all. How do you know about “A vast majority of Agar.io players concern badly […]”?
I did not see any surveys. Did you even asked those, who play with bots?

Yes I got data, people think bots are bad because I (as a simple Agar.io blogger) have received 68 negative e-mails (via contact us thread) regarding that bots ruin gameplay besides no positive e-mail. Why bots are bad? There is a simple answer that is included in the post. Because only certain people (which I call them bot owners) take advantage of them and this is so unfair for regular players.

I should add that I adjusted everything for lag to the lowest settings and whatnot.

    “lag-free”

What a joke and lie. I finally received a reply after setting up the Agar.IO clone using socket.IO and HTML5 canvas stacked on NodeJS. However, while I did my own test on a dedicated server I have which is hosted on a T3, I found that your own statements are simply inaccurate. regarding ping response and latency issues. All of your servers are not physically separate via location for North America. Only three are and stating that anything is “lag-free” that requires oh… a connection via the internet is simply stupid. Perhaps it was a typo. Spend some $ and get some decent dedicated hosting for your servers with better bandwidth. It’s cheap and based on my little five day run with my own build using the above mentioned personal server, I requested all users to report any disconnects and also provided instructions on how to monitor the servers response time via ping and also traceroute to rule out any issues with HOPS. Of the 859 connections, 11 disconnects were reported and of those, two were due to my server rebooting and the rest due to 9 people attempting dial-up connections.

    Sincerely,

An unnamed Cell who will even help you to a point for free just to hopefully resolve these disconnect reports as they are legitimate. When this game requires more than my 100Mbps/10Mbps bandwidth, then I will start to look at what is going on client side and not server side.

Spend time resolving reliability, not making $ on stupid Valentine day skins.
